A Brief History of Passover

The Passover is one of the most well-known events in the Bible. During the enslavement of the Israelites in Egypt, a set of plagues is set against the Egyptians. The final plague is the killing of every firstborn son. In order to escape this fate, the Israelites are told to put lamb’s blood on their doorposts. This way, the angel that was sent would “pass over” the homes of the Israelites. The Passover celebration has a long history and in today’s video we will cover the evolution of this holiday. We will not be concentrating too much on the origins of the holiday as that subject is still shrouded in some mystery, but the development of the rituals involved in the holiday’s celebration are the main focus of this video. After it had already been celebrated, how did the custom change over time and location. Most importantly, why did the customs change? Today, we will be exploring the history of Passover.
