Video made by Filmora Day 1 VA camping, kayaking, cooking, and eating trip The long awaited trip, second VA trip because first trip we skunked out on sheepshead. The first trip to VA we went the first week of May and it was too early the sheepshead was not in yet. Plus we camped at First landing state park and the beach launch was horrible the soft sand made it very hard ti move a fully loaded fishing kayak. In this trip we planned it for September. Little did we know the hurricane pass by the area and had some costal flooding. We got in contact with some locals and they informed us normally after a storm the water is to murky to fish. That’s why we didn’t get any fish for the first day. We special order some fiddler crabs just for this trip. On the way to VA we stopped at Delaware to sleep and one of the car got a big 12mm nut in the tire lol. Lucky we found a auto shop and got the tire patch. We fixed it at the parking lot and went in out way. We checked into Kiptopeke state park made some lunch and headed out fishing. For lunch I grilled some stuff chicken wings and steak, served with hot steam rice. This state park has lots of fishing area and a nice boat launch, just don’t ware crocks 🤣🤣. First landing state park is more for people who is just hanging on the beach hard to find parking at the fishing area and long walks to the beach. My over all experience abiut the parks: Frist landing state park great spot but feel like more for shore fishing then kayaks Kiptopeke state park built for fishermen has a great launch and fishing pier including other boat launch close by.
