3 CRAFTY Sweater Upcycles!

In this thrift flip, I’ll try my hand at crochet, overcasting and needle felting to make three ho-hum sweaters much more beautiful, interesting and wearable! FIRST, I’ll show you how to shorten a sweater. Normally, I just cut off the ribbing and sew it back on, which works pretty well, but this time I wanted to learn how to crochet the pieces back together. I’m not a crochet expert, but my 94 year old Mum showed me how to do it. It was pretty easy and it looks great! SECOND, I’ll show you how to use a contrasting yarn and a simple overcast stitch to add interest and style to a drab sweater dress. I love this one! And THIRD, I’ll show you how you can use needle felting to add drama to a plain black sweater. It’s really fun and easy. On this one, I also reduce the big turtleneck to a mock turtle, and I use a small scrap from the side of the sweater to add a pretty flare (and flair!) to the sleeve. This one might be my favourite!
