Rioghnach Connolly and Ellis Davies are a formidable duo based in Manchester with Celtic roots in Ireland and Wales. The Holy Name Church serves the university community with regular masses and ceremonies as well as supporting local school by allowing Colleges to hold music concerts and recitals in their space. Before lockdowns they would also hold organ recitals which sound gorgeous in the space. Thanks very much to Brendan Callaghan SJ and Anna Maria Wójtowicz for allowing us to record in the church. We record and film a variety of folk musicians in different spaces around England to capture music in natural and vibrant spaces. With some exciting recordings coming up throughout the month, we are working on putting together a debut CD of all the gorgeous spaces and musicians to showcase the alternative recording techniques. The word Ambedo means the feeling of being absorbed in vivid sensory details which is something we are hoping to represent through our productions, presenting how different environments influence different pieces of music.
