Firing up a 1 gauge Bing S 2/6 1915 live steam locomotive for the first time in many years.

I was able to buy this enormous Bing locomotive from a specialist Bing collector. The chance that you can buy this locomotive is not very high and I already had the gauge 0 version so it had to be added to the collection. The locomotive is in beautiful condition for a live steam locomotive and I probably found out why when I fired it up. I first lubricated all moving parts and tested the boiler to see if it was airtight. Then put water in the boiler and new wicks in the burner and steam oil in the reservoir behind the boiler door. The boiler was pressurizing properly and when I opened the steam tap to activate the cylinders, all the oil ran out and the steam escaped. After further investigation, it turned out that the control needle that should lead oil to the cylinders was not there at all, resulting in a hole in the oil/steam pipe. So i think this is the reason why it is still so beautiful. This needle could be gone a long time ago. Fortunately, after I had closed it with a temporary solution, things started to move. Things weren't going great on the rails either and as you can see in the video, steam is escaping from the front of the locomotive. When I ran the locomotive with the tender for the first time and opened the steam tap, you could hear the steam escaping loudly. This turned out to be the steam valve that allows the locomotive to move forward and backward. It turned out that a pressure spring had given up its task. But after solving that problem, the monster really came to life! And pulling 4x 50cm wagons with interior is no problem!
