Two iconic Gibson Les Paul Juniors from the golden era of electric guitars—each representing the raw, uncompromising spirit that made these instruments staples of rock & roll history. *1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior – Cherry* This 1959 Les Paul Junior is a superb example of Gibson’s late-’50s craftsmanship. Finished in its original cherry nitro lacquer, the guitar shows honest, tasteful wear consistent with age, including light back wear and minor lacquer dings. The slab body is crafted from old-growth mahogany with striking grain, delivering the resonant, direct tone these Juniors are famous for. The full ’59 neck profile fills the hand beautifully, capped with a very dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard and original inlays. Electronics remain largely original, featuring period-correct Clarostat pots and a single, powerful P-90 pickup that defines the model. Original Kluson tuners, tortoiseshell pickguard, and wraparound tailpiece are all present, with only the jack plate and jack replaced. The slab mahogany body and chunky neck provide a lively, resonant feel, while the wide Brazilian rosewood fretboard offers excellent playability. This guitar remains in excellent condition overall, retaining its original nitro finish, frets, pickup, pots, caps, wraparound tailpiece, Kluson Deluxe tuners, and pickguard. Cosmetic wear includes light buckle rash, lacquer checking near the neck joint, some color bleed on the rear panel, minor headstock chipping, and one notable ding on the back of the neck. One strap button appears to be replaced. The original alligator cardboard case completes this highly collectible package.
