The technical brilliance of Konstantin Emelyanov is not surprising, given his numerous awards, the expressiveness and tonal nuance of his interpretations is impressive. But it is especially the combination of these three works or cycles that makes the CD of the pianist, who was born in 1994 and trained in Moscow and Catania (Sicily), so convincing – Ö1, Hans Georg Nicklaus International German Piano Award (IGPA) - Internationaler Deutscher Pianistenpreis - is donated yearly. The prize money amounts to a total of € 20,000 only for the winner - The Arnold Freymuth Special Prize € 5,000 - and the Audience Award € 3,000 -. In the past years, the prize was awarded to Amir Tebenikhin 2011, Lukas Geniusas 2012, Dmitri Levkovich 2013, Misha Namirovsky 2014, Yekwon Sunwoo 2015, Wataru Hisasue 2016, Eric Lu 2017, Hans H. Suh 2018, JeungBeum Sohn in 2019, no IGPA Covid 2020, Dmitry Ablogin 2021, Konstantin Emelyanov 2022 and Andrey Gugnin 2023. The Audience-Award 2013 went to Thomas Wypior, 2014 to Albertina Eunju Song, 2015 to Andrejs Osokins, 2017 to Eric Lu, 2018 to Tomoki Sakata, 2019 to Luka Okros, 2021 to JeungBeum Sohn, 2022 to Konstantin Emelyanov and 2023 to Xuanyi Mao.
