Vitruvius is a grid tangle, an alternative grid tangle. It is a circle grid with fragments (micro patterns) inside each circle. In this case, it’s a square in a circle, in a square, in a circle, until the original circle is full. Change the position of the squares so they alternate between squares and diamonds. In this video I’ll demonstrate, step by step, how to draw this tangle 3 ways. First I’ll draw it as a circle grid filling the space. The second version is a line, or border, of Vitruvius. This one looks like a row of roses. The final version is one single large Vitruvius. I create additional contrast by decorating some of the spaces inside with simple lines.
