Tuscarora Section Hike from PA 75 (Spring Run) to Pa 16. The Tuscarora Trail in the 90s was in shambles when I first section hiked the entire trail into Maryland. I wanted to check out the changes since the PATC took over. They have added six shelters which has made overnight stays easier. Due to lack of use and lack of volunteers...some sections haven't changed much. My initial plan was to thru-hike from the northern terminus to Hancock MD in 2022, but an injury to my left knee ruined that. After the challenging three miles above the PA turnpike...I've concluded that I no longer desire to thru-hike the Tuscarora...plus turning 60 has diminished the desire. Younger hikers may thrill in the challenge...us older adventurers...not so much. This is truely one of the most difficult trails in the state! This video was a linear hike with a friend dropping me off in Spring Run and a car parked near the end. If you skip the first seven miles of this trip...the rest is really worth it...
