Resolved: The case for same-sex marriage has a rational limiting principle and changing marriage policy accordingly would strengthen the institution of marriage. Professor of Politics Stephen Macedo and Sherif Girgis '08. Moderated by Professor of Religion Eric Gregory. Professor Stephen Macedo is the Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor of Politics and former Director of the University Center for Human Values. He holds an MA and PhD in Politics from Princeton and a M.Litt. in Politics from Oxford University. His is the author of "Just Married: Same-sex Couples, Monogamy, and the Future of Marriage" (Princeton University Press, Spring 2015). Sherif Girgis graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Princeton in 2008 and went on to earn a master's degree in moral, legal and political philosophy from Oxford as a Rhodes scholar. He is the co-author, along with Ryan Anderson and Robert George, of "What is Marriage? Man and Woman: A Defense." Event hosted by The Anscombe Society, Princeton University's student-run group promoting marriage, family, and sexual integrity.
