An unforgettable journey through the clouds, where each step took me closer to the sky.... Welcome to the official travel film of my recent Himalayan adventure – a soul-stirring trek to Sandakphu and Phalut, undertaken in January 2025. This cinematic journey captures the raw beauty, the chilling winds, the golden sunrises, and the tranquil silences that echo in the high mountains. If you’re a mountain lover, trekker, or someone looking for visual escape, this film is for you. 🗻 About the Trek: The Sandakphu-Phalut Trek is the highest trekking route in West Bengal and one of the very few in India that offers a panoramic view of four of the five highest peaks in the world — Mt. Everest (8848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8516 m), Mt. Makalu (8485 m), and the majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586 m). The trek takes place along the Singalila Ridge, a natural border between India and Nepal, providing stunning 180° views of the Eastern Himalayan range. Throughout the trail, we kept weaving in and out of India and Nepal, experiencing a unique blend of cultures and landscapes. 📍 Trek Route & Duration: Start Point: Sepi End Point: Sepi Trek Duration: 6 Days Trek Distance: ~65 km Major Stops: Sepi → Samanden → Molley → Sabargram → Phalut → Aal → Sandakphu → Gurdum → Sepi Each campsite brought a new vibe — from the mystical fogs of Tumling to the snowy meadows of Phalut. 📈 Altitude & Weather: Sandakphu: 3,636 m / 11,930 ft (Highest point in West Bengal) Phalut: 3,600 m / 11,810 ft Trekking in January meant witnessing some of the clearest mountain views imaginable. Temperatures ranged from -5°C to -15°C, especially during night halts. 🌄 Highlights of the Trek: Breathtaking sunrise at Sandakphu with the “Sleeping Buddha” formation of Kanchenjunga glowing golden The 360° view from Phalut — a place that makes you feel you’ve reached the edge of the world Serene forest trails through rhododendron and magnolia woods, frozen waterfalls, and rustic mountain villages Conversations with locals, cozy wooden teahouses, and the warmest cups of tea in the coldest weather 🎥 About This Film: This is more than a trek. This is a story of solitude, wonder, and pushing personal boundaries. Shot handheld and with drones, the film merges travelogue with storytelling. Expect cinematic visuals, raw emotions, and a personal narrative that reflects my state of mind on this journey.
