From the beginning of the conflict, the leaders of international politics and diplomacy reacted passively to the development of the war, and moreover, they passed Resolution 713 on the introduction of an arms embargo for all the republics of the former Yugoslavia, which put the Croats, as the weaker party, in an almost hopeless position. The passivity of international politics, especially the television reports broadcast by foreign media from war-torn areas, caused a revolt among a large number of "small", ordinary people throughout Europe and the world. The film conveys the atmosphere of uncertainty and suffering that hung over Croatia in the late autumn of 1991 and the fact of the lack of support from the international community that Croatia was hoping for. The story follows individuals - foreigners who, due to a personal sense of injustice, join the defense of Croatia. Today, 30 years later, society unfairly calls them mercenaries. But are they really? Do we all owe these people something more than a contemptuous nickname?
