Thanks to a $2.3 million EU recovery grant, restorers are currently stripping away layers of gray paint to reveal vibrant, original coats of arms and decorations commissioned by the Della Rovere family. While Michelangelo’s iconic "Moses" statue remains the star attraction, the real magic is happening on the ceiling, where centuries-old colors are finally seeing the light of day.
