Valeria Handobe reports on the emotional account of Paulus Josef Dragonder, the 65-year-old father of Christof Frederik, who was found murdered near Chairman Mao Zendong High School in Windhoek's 7de Laan area. Frederik, a member of the LGBTQI+ community who identified as a woman, was allegedly stabbed 42 times and had his private parts cut off and placed on his chest. At the Katutura Magistrate’s court, where the two teenage suspects appeared in connection with his son's murder, Dragonder spoke of his disbelief and pain. He described his son as the only child and breadwinner in their family and pleaded with the community not to judge his late son and to avoid using derogatory terms. The suspects, Namwandi Elias Silvanus Nandomba and Mervin Beukes, face charges of murder, defeating the course of justice, and violation of a corpse. They were denied bail during their first court appearance, with Magistrate Surita Savage citing the risk of interference with investigations and the gravity of the case. The case has been remanded to 31 July, with more suspects expected to appear in court soon. Watch for further developments and share your thoughts in the comments below.
