In this video I explore the range of thruster damage in Space Engineers. It turned out to be a much more complex topic than I'd first imagined with differences in the amount of damage dealt dependent on being on or off planets, thruster type and even some bizarre behaviour involving landing gear - though if you've played Space Engineers for a while, nothing is strange if landing gear are involved. These are the results I obtained through experimentation in a creative world. I left the thrusters running for at least 5-10mins each prior to being happy that a block doesn't get damaged at a particular range. It is possible that the blocks were accruing very small amounts of damage that I didn't pick up, but if that is the case it will be almost irrelevant (I hope). At sea level: Large Grid Ion Large = 2 blocks, Small = 2 blocks Atmospheric Large = 5 blocks, Small = 2 blocks Hydrogen Large = 7 blocks, Small = 3 blocks Small Grid (rounded up values I mentioned in the video) Ion Large = 3 blocks, Small = 2 blocks Atmospheric Large = 5 blocks, Small = 2 blocks Hydrogen Large = 9 blocks, Small = 3 blocks In Space Large Grid Ion Large = 5 blocks, Small = 4 blocks Hydrogen Large = 7 blocks, Small = 3 blocks Small Grid Ion Large = 3 blocks, Small = 2 blocks Hydrogen Large = 5 blocks, Small = 3 blocks As always I'd love to hear any thoughts you guys have on the topic or any extra tips that would be useful to pass on so let me know in the comments :) As always, don't forget to enjoy this awesome (if at times buggy) game!
