It's been a super long time since I last posted drum content! Clearly lots has happened since then as you might have noticed in the slew of Physics videos and in the very different drum setup in this video. I started teaching, got settled in another local church and finally started serving in the music team again! Looking forward to bringing you more gospel-centered drum content! (Especially since there seems to be a lack of drum content for these songs on Youtube!) It's been a loooong time since I've been behind a kit. But other than messing up that cut back into the final chorus, I think it went pretty well! Recovered pretty well too I hope. (we planned to cut on "Lift"... I dont know what was going on in my head) The lyrics of the song start off in solemn reflection of Jesus' journey through Jerusalem, towards Golgotha to die a tragic death - but ends in triumphant praise for the victory He secures through His resurrection. I try to capture the appropriate emotions to reflect the truths that we sing in the drum parts as well. Intended to add the tambourine for the entire last chorus but messing up the re-entry made me forget a bit. But I think it adds a nice touch to the celebratory praise! Hope this helps!
