“Dear Richard, Do you remember the photographs you took of what happened to your train on the way to Waterloo in April 1967? Your Mother, very kindly, gave me a set and they helped our artist to draw at least two of the pictures for "Super Rescue". Anyway, "Super Rescue" is the story which your pictures told me. I hope you will enjoy it and the other three stories as well. The Author” Jerry De La Rue reads today’s story, “Tenders for Henry”, taken from the twenty-third “Railway Series” book, “Enterprising Engines”, written by his reverence Wilbert Awdry and illustrated by Gunvor and Peter Edwards. Gordon is severely depressed because there are rumours from Diesels that they’ve “abolished Steam”, including his Doncaster brothers. The Fat Controller confirms Gordon’s brothers are all gone, except one. To cheer Gordon up, the Fat Controller sends Gordon’s last surviving brother Flying Scotsman to visit. Henry, however, becomes jealous that Flying Scotsman has two tenders. Duck offers him to have six tenders… Adapted from the famous “Railway Series” written from 1945 – 2011 by his reverence, Wilbert Awdry and his son, Christopher, “Sodor Railway Tales” tells the exciting stories of some anthropomorphic engines on the Island of Sodor. See all your old favourite engines from the North Western Railway and the Skarloey Railway!
