Ferry Porsche's grandson Hans-Peter built a museum near Salzburg to house the family's collection. At the 2026 Salzburg Motor Show, one of the rarest exhibits from that collection sat behind ropes in Ruby Star: the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport. Just 77 built worldwide. Based on the 992-generation GT3 R race car but freed from every FIA regulation that governs it. The result is a 4.2-liter naturally aspirated flat-six producing 620 PS at 9,400 RPM, a six-speed sequential gearbox, rear-wheel drive, and a target weight of 1,250 kg. No road registration. No racing series homologation. No turbocharger. No hybrid assist. The unsilenced exhaust exits through a centrally mounted double tailpipe, and the rear wing traces its lineage directly to the 1978 935 that raced at Daytona. Porsche priced it at €951,000 plus VAT ex-works. At auction, examples have already been estimated at nearly double.
