Here's a quick dive into some gems you just can’t miss: 1. Chinmaya Nagar Bajji Shop Started the day with a deep-fried welcome — pazham pori, cauliflower pakoda, and veg cutlet straight off the kadai. Visiting this place for 25 years, except the ownership nothing has changed. Crispy, oily (in the best way), and it would have been complete if they sell tea along with these snacks. Old-school vibes all the way! Address: #168, Nerkundran Road, Chinmaya Nagar, Virugambakkam, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AfpdkpXyxpYX2... 2. Venkateshwara Boli Stall Next stop: a little nostalgia trip. Tried their mini samosas (cute AND spicy), coconut boli (super greasy, not gonna lie 😅), and medu bonda that was surprisingly fluffy. The USP of this place is their pricing, you get most of the snacks within 10/-. Address: 46, Aryagowda Rd, Near Ayodhya Mandapam, SM Nagar, Vivekanandapuram, West Mambalam, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/E26XZetAxJ2qT... 3. Iyarkai Suvai Oh man, this place! The kolukattai in coconut milk was pure comfort food magic. The ilaneer payasam was fresh and delicate, while the ulunthan kanji warmed my heart (and belly). You feel like you're eating at a grandmother’s house. Address: 1D,Narasimhan Street, Lake View Rd, near Anjaneyar temple, West Mambalam, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ixbQWxxRKbbnb... 4. C. Kunhiraman General Stores Time for a sweet break — mango ice cream, a chocolate cone, and their famous mango milk (think rose milk, but mango-flavored!). Retro, refreshing, and just the right amount of guilty pleasure. Address: N Terminus Rd, Chetty Thottam, Royapuram, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yJfa3CzgrABkq... 5. G. Gopaul Dairy If heaven served a snack, it would be bun butter jam from here. Softest buns, slathered with homemade Oothukuli white butter and jam — pure, buttery bliss. Easily the best bun butter jam in India — and no, I’m not exaggerating. Address: 3, Philips St, Parry's Corner, George Town, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1Btj7KAL2XAsw... 6. G. Suryanarayana Snacks Centre Hidden gem alert! Their milagai bajji, potato bajji, and bonda were out of this world. Spicy, crunchy, piping hot — basically everything a perfect roadside snack should be. You’ll want second (and third) rounds. Address: 2/29, 3/2, Deena Dayalu St, Pondy Bazaar, Parthasarathy Puram, T. Nagar, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pa8S4zt86CL74... 7. Seena Bhai Tiffin Center Time for some serious carb-loading! Though it is overhyped, still it is a decent street food option.Ghee-fried uthappam here hits different — crispy edges, pillowy soft center, and those spicy, tangy chutneys on the side that could easily steal the show. Address: No: 51/105, Opp Khazanchi Jewellery, NSC Bose Road, Sowcarpet, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kzMFGS96JSfPb... 8. Venkatramana Boli Stall When a place sends bolis to Super star Rajnikanth and cricketer R. Ashwin, you know it’s legit!Soft, melt-in-your-mouth bolis packed with sweet goodness. Honestly? One of the most iconic stops of this food trail. Address: 32, 58, Thambiah Rd, AGS Colony, Ramakrishnapuram, West Mambalam, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tdCseKQu455w8... 9. Alsa Mall Sandwich Stall Some traditions just don’t get old. I’ve been eating their egg omelette sandwich for nearly two decades — and it’s still fiery, greasy, ridiculously satisfying. Be warned: this sandwich bites back, but you’ll love every minute of it.Address: Egmore, Red Cross Rd, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gCAC2tKoLqDLA... 10. Sahul Atho Shop (Burmese Food) Wrapped up the adventure at this absolute gem. Chennai’s love for Burmese food shines here — their Atho, banana stem soup, and filled spicy eggs are an explosion of flavors. Authentic, spicy, soul-hugging food — couldn’t have asked for a better finale! Address: No. 5,2nd line Beach Road, MRV Complex,, Parrys, Mannadi, George Town, Chennai Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kQZYu9R16TK1S... Which one of these would you dive into first?
