The main entrance by the Rotonde is on Boulevard de Courcelles. The construction of Parc Monceau dates back to the 17th century, at the instigation of the Duke of Chartres. The visitor enters through the large wrought iron gates embellished with gold. The promenade has some nice surprises: many statues, a Renaissance arcade of the former Paris City Hall, spectacular trees, a great diversity of birds and a large pond.
