Here's a unique piece you've never seen the likes of before... a large, beautiful, original piece of Stanley Mouse artwork done for San Francisco's Avalon Ballroom in June 1966 for an upcoming show featuring the Daily Flash, Sopwith Camel and the Grass Roots. It was advertising the weekend of shows represented by the conventional FD-15 "Wonderland" concert poster. This would have been displayed outside the Avalon starting the week of June 20-25, since it says "Next Week" and gives the dates of July 1, 2 & 3. Was this the only time such a creative measure was taken? We can't say, but nobody's ever seen anything like it before, with either the Fillmore or Avalon. But Stanley Mouse remembers it... he happily posed with it for us and wrote out a nice letter supporting its provenance and authenticity, which is part of the lot. This unique piece features lots of action and motion, including a running camel and a colorful palette of yellows, greens and blues. This is an unusual case of Heritage keeping something in its frame for the auction; it's just so beautifully framed that we couldn't bear to remove it. Besides, original artwork, done on thick art board, is in a different category than printed concert posters. https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/ente...
