On February 13, 2024, Lee Anderson hosted a beautiful event at his home in Nisswa, MN, celebrating the centennial of Baby Bootlegger. This iconic raceboat, designed by George Crouch for Caleb Bragg in early 1924 and built by Henry Nevins, won the Gold Cup in both 1924 and 1925 and was equipped with a marinized Hispano Suiza aircraft engine from World War I. Attendees from the ACBS community enjoyed a firsthand account from Mark Mason, who shared his passion for antique boats and the history of Caleb Bragg, as well as the contributions of Gold Cup greats Bill Horn and Charles "Charlie" Grafflin. The video begins with a 1995 audio recording by Wade Bray of Harold Rivard capturing Mark Mason firing up Baby Bootleggers Hispano Suiza at his Hiawatha Cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
