Sultan Ahmed Born in 1938 in a landlord family in Lucknow, the city of Nawabs, Sultan Ahmed's grandfather was well-versed in Urdu and Persian and was a professor at Lucknow University.Father was also literary minded. When he was in class 8, he moved from Lucknow to Mumbai.Sultan Ahmed was very fond of films since childhood, so he used to secretly go out to watch films during school breaks. His uncle Wajahat Mirza was a renowned dialogue writer. On the recommendation of uncle Wajahat Mirza, he became assistant to K Asif. Although K Asif had ten assistants, but with his hard work and dedication, he became the chief assistant director of K Asif. By staying with him, he helped in making Mughal-e-Azam and Learned making films. When Mughal-e-Azam was released in the year 60 and gradually its acceptance increased, Sultan Ahmed was also appreciated for this film. Sultan Ahmed grew close to Shammi Rabadi, the successful and popular heroine of that time.Shammi played an important role in introducing Sultan Ahmed to all the famous people of the film industry. This was the reason that despite being 7 years older than him, Sultan Ahmed married Shammi in 1973.Johnny Walker's brother Tony Walker gave him a chance to work in his film Pyar Ka Rishta. However, it took five years to complete the film and the film was released in 1973. For the first time, Sultan Ahmed independently directed the film Pyar Ka Rishta.Sultan Ahmed formed a company named Sultan Production and then under this banner, he produced his first film Heera in 1973. Based on dacoits.This film starring Sunil Dutt, Asha Parekh and Shatrughan Sinha was a huge hit.Sultan Ahmed made the film Ganga Ki Saugandh in 1978 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Amjad Khan. This film was also a huge hit. Now Sultan Ahmed's star started rising and from here the tension between Shammi and him started increasing and finally he fired Shammi. Divorced in the year 80. However, many big personalities like Sunil Dutt and Nargis were angry over this action of Sultan Ahmed. In the year 82, Sultan produced the block buster film Dharamkanta starring Rajkumar, Rajesh Khanna and Jitendra.During this time, he married Farah, who was 30 years younger than him, in 1987. Sultan Ahmed produced the film Daataa starring Mithun Chakraborty and Amrish Puri in the year 89. Like his previous films This film was also based on the background of dacoits and was a huge hit. In the year 95, he produced Jai Vikrantha. Sultan Ahmed was the senior vice president of IMPPA (The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association) an organization working for the interests of filmmakers from 90 to 94 and then from 94 Remained president till 1998. He died in Tehran in 2002 at the age of 64 when he was on a tour of Iran and Iraq. His wife Farah Sultan Ahmed is a renowned director, producer and social activist.
