Multi-Agent MedGemma Triage

The MedGemma AI Medical Triage System is a multi-agent application that helps determine how urgently a patient needs care. In settings where triage expertise is limited—rural clinics, busy emergency departments, or disaster response—our system uses six specialized AI agents powered by Google’s MedGemma (HAI-DEF) to gather symptoms, analyze red flags, apply triage protocols, and produce clear, patient-friendly recommendations. We achieve 92.86% urgency classification accuracy and 100% accuracy on emergency cases and red-flag detection across 14 test scenarios. The workflow is transparent and safety-focused: each agent has a defined role, and critical cases are escalated consistently. This presentation walks through the problem, the six-agent architecture, and live demos for both an emergency case (chest pain → EMERGENCY) and a non-urgent case (mild cold → self-care), and closes with impact potential and next steps for real-world deployment.
