Life After TB – A Conversation About The Neglected Part of The Emergency

This is a recording of a Community Connect session at the 50th Union World Conference on Lung Health in #Hyderabad, #India, focussing on all aspects of life after TB. For many communities affected by TB, completing TB treatment is not the end of their TB journey. TB survivors often have some form of persistent breathing problems following treatment. Post-TB obstructive lung disease (TOLD) can range from minor symptoms to severe breathlessness, with additional well-being concerns regarding the after-effects of TB and its treatment. Issues for survivors of drug-resistant forms of TB are often more severe. The awareness and management of TOLD and well-being of the survivor and their community must be part of ending the emergency in TB. In this video TB-affected communities and medical professionals share their experience of life post-TB in a conversation format taking questions from the audience and via the @unionconference Twitter feed.
