Enugu (Igbo) vs Ibadan (Yoruba) These two don't get along. They are probably the world's most mismatched or incongruous countrymen. They have abandoned the fight for a better Nigeria for that of the greater ethnic group, and Nigeria has suffered as a result. These are the most influential ethnic groups in Nigeria, boasting the most educated, entrepreneurial, and gifted individuals. What can unite them for the betterment of Nigeria? We explored Enugu, the former capital of the Eastern region, which is well-planned but has suffered due to Nigeria's persistent mismanagement. Although the British developed Enugu with great care, the local Igbo leaders have redirected its wealth to their connected allies, leading to a decline in the city’s prosperity.  Ibadan, in contrast, is a significant disappointment. In the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, it was arguably one of Africa's most promising cities. The Yoruba people showcased remarkable achievements when Nigeria operated under a regional system. As the capital of the Western region, Ibadan thrived and showed great potential. However, today, it stands as a mere shadow of its former greatness. Let us know what you think in the comment section.
