A Challenging Bikepacking Event on the AZT

The Gila 100 Stage Bikepack is a point-to-point, 2-day stage event from the Picketpost trailhead to the Tiger Mine trailhead with a coordinated campsite at the end of day 1. This challenging stretch of trail includes over 14,000 ft. elevation gain over 92 miles. The payoff? Incredible views and awesome people. Here's my experience with the 2-day event, sometimes called a "race" because you have an option to self-report your times. In my experience, it's mostly a race against the light and against yourself!
