As part of our Travel Package, we were given a "Free Shopping Tour". We did many before this in different parts of Mexico and if you want to go sightseeing without paying a lot, this is one way to do it. In most "Free" Tours we were dropped off at a location and there was no pressure to buy. Some spots were actually interesting and the souvenirs were 10 to 50 pesos each. This free shopping tour was the worst we ever had attended too. There was no escaping the pressure of sales. They assign a salesperson to each family and try to sell you Jewellery that cost 80% less in Canada. It felt like going to a timeshare meeting. Our family doesn't wear jewelry or drink alcohol. So it was an easy 100 no,no,no,no,no from us. We just had to wait for the other guest to finish up with the sales trap. This took around 90 minutes before we head to Playa for the real shopping. It was an experience and a free ride to Playa. We could have taken the Colectivo Bus, which cost 40 pesos per person but not everyone is comfortable standing beside the highway. We did the Free Tour so you don't have to. Taking one for the team.
