I had the chance to visit the legendary Azusa Street—yes, the place where the entire modern Pentecostal movement was birthed in 1906. Standing there, it honestly felt surreal. This was the ground where God poured out His Spirit so powerfully that the world has never been the same. The Azusa Street Revival started in a small, run-down building led by a humble man of God, William J. Seymour. No fancy stage. No lights. No marketing. Just hungry believers coming together from every background—Black, white, rich, poor—seeking Jesus with everything they had. And God responded with tongues, healing, prophecy, deep repentance, and the tangible glory of His presence. What happened in that room shook nations. Missionaries were launched from that little mission to the ends of the earth. Denominations and movements were birthed. Lives were radically transformed. And over 100 years later, we’re still feeling the ripple effects. Getting to stand there reminded me that God doesn’t need a big platform to start a big move—He just needs yielded hearts.
