This is an instructional video of how to make Indian Fry Bread for Indian Tacos. Indian fry bread (double recipe) 5 pounds flour 6 cups warm water 2 packages yeast 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup milk or powdered milk 1 cup vegetable oil or melted butter Directions: Pour yeast into warm water and stir until the yeast dissolves. Add sugar, salt, milk, and vegetable oil, then stir until all the dry ingredients dissolves. Pour and stir in the flour 2 to 3 cups at a time. After flour has been mixed, turn on a lightly floured surface and kneed the dough for about 6-8 minutes. Put dough in a large oiled bowl and cover with Saran Wrap and a damp towel. Let it rise for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Oil your hands to re-kneed the dough for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle some flower so it won't stick to your hands. Kneed until dough is no longer sticky. And you are ready to fry it. Heat the oil on or medium, if you want to, turn it down to medium low once the oil is heated. Fry it until it’s brown on both sides. Let it drain the excess oil on a paper towel until you put the desired toppings on it.
