Here we chase the last train of day on the Belton, Grandview and Kansas City Railroad through Belton. The Belton, Grandview & Kansas City Railroad is a heritage railway located in Belton, Missouri. Its history begins in 1964 when the Smoky Hill Railway and Historical Society was founded with the goal of preserving historic railroad equipment and operating excursion trains for the public. The group first displayed their trains on an old siding in Lenexa, Kansas, but after losing access to those tracks in the early 1980s, the society relocated east to Belton. There, it acquired a short stretch of former Frisco line running through town, which became the foundation for the Belton, Grandview & Kansas City Railroad.
