BN SD60M #9244, BN SD60M #9208, and FURX SD40-2 #3049 head up very fast-moving southbound manifest train Q647 as it roars through the milepost ANB780.0 grade crossing in Woodland, Georgia, on CSX’s Fitzgerald Subdivision at 1:44pm on Monday, December 27, 2004. Video Conversion Process Using Vegas Pro 13, VirtualDub2, and Topaz VAI 4 Original 4:3 video footage (29.97 fps) shot with a Sony DCR-TRV900. TIFF 16-bit image sequences were used throughout the entire editing process in all three software programs to maintain the highest level of image quality possible. Note that TIFF files are extremely large files. Video processed with the Deshaker plugin in VirtualDub2 to eliminate any camera shake while shooting the train. Using Topaz VAI 4, the video was deinterlaced (lower field first) with the Dione DV model converting it to Progressive video. Using the Chronos Fast model the frame rate was converted to 59.94 fps. Video reframed to 16:9 using Sony Vegas Pro 13. It was upscaled to 1280 x 720 using the Topaz VAI 4 Gaia HQ model. The Artemis High Quality model also yields nice results in my opinion. Video synced with original audio then outputted to 720p60 XDCAM EX mp4 file for YouTube using Sony Vegas Pro 13. The Sony AVC/MVC and MainConcept AVC/AAC options also render nice mp4 files and are smaller size files than XDCAM EX.
