I always try to do one offshore trip in late November as the water cools inshore and the fish start moving deeper. This year, my wife and I drove out to Montauk NY in the early hours of the morning on black Friday and boarded the Viking Starship. The wind was a little stiff, and the temps were in the low 40's but the crowd was light and the bite was somewhat steady so we had a good time. First wreck they anchored on was actually a dud, no keeper seabass for anyone, so they moved after only 10 min. which was definitely the right call because the next wreck was pretty lively...
