Learn to properly archive FCPX libraries, events and projects to an external hard drive. Final Cut Pro libraries can quickly become cluttered, making FCPX run slower than normal. Cleaning up your library and moving your unused or finished projects, events or even full libraries to an external hard drive can greatly increase your Final Cut Pro performance, and moving media using this method will ensure none of your media gets lost in the process. First, we'll take a look at copying or moving FCPX projects. Copying or moving project in FCPX will move your projects, and only the clips in that project to your destination library. All the unused media will be left behind. This can be very useful if storage space is an issue. Moving or copying an event or a full library will move all the media stored in it, including all the video clips, audio, images, projects and everything else in the event or library.
