What was meant to be a relaxing early Thanksgiving family reunion in our favorite Florida Keys spot turned into the scariest night of our lives—thanks to the surprise "No-Name Storm" of November 15, 2023! 🌴🌪️ This unnamed low-pressure beast formed right on top of us, dumping up to 14 inches of rain, with gusts hitting 75-86 mph (hurricane force in the Upper Keys), massive waves, coastal flooding, and chaos everywhere. Power outages affected over 100,000 in South Florida, roads became rivers, and we were basically trapped on the island with ocean on one side and floodwater on the other. No injuries or deaths—just property damage, a wrecked dock, a battered boat, and a sewer backup nightmare (yes, waste water came up the shower drain 😱). The wildest part? My dad slept through the whole thing! We weren't even watching the weather because we were too busy enjoying paradise. In this video, I share our raw story: Blissful sunny days: jetskis, fishing, boat rides, and family vibes How the storm snuck up on us (even I, the family weather guy, missed it!) Heart-pounding night of waves slamming the boat, flooding, and 86 mph gusts The radar loop showing the storm almost forming an eye right over our blue dot Aftermath cleanup and why we'll never take the Keys for granted again The rest of the trip? Gorgeous sunsets and recovery. Mother Nature reminded us how vulnerable we are—stay weather-aware, folks!
