Stafford Rangers responded with a win away at Long Eaton United in the FA Trophy after humiliation at Congleton Town on Tuesday night. It was a closely thought game in the first half as Rangers connected some good balls down the wing but lacked that final touch where Long Eaton had two good shots saved by Cameron Belford except for the one being offside. We improved the performance in the second half with a goal from a close ranged effort which did go down as an own goal and Jimmy O’Neill got on the end from a Sean Cooke free kick. I thought that we did well to take our chances with Long Eaton coming up at and only scoring one goal. This performance was like chalk and cheese compared to Tuesday night. Hopefully are an FA Cup and Trophy win this month we can turn these good wins into league games need to start getting some points on the board so we don’t fall massively behind. Some good performances from Whitney, Robbins, O’Neill and Edwards. Onto Bank Holiday Monday away at Hanley Town we go there for the second time this month hopefully we can now get a league win there!
