Our Top 5 things to see and do on the North Coast 500 Road Trip 5️⃣🏆 #NorthCoast500 #Scotland #RoadTrip #TravelChannel #NC500RoadTrip #VisitScotland #VanLife #VanLifeScotland #vanlifeuk #travel #travelvideos #travelvlog #travelvideo How to do the NC500? The NC500 is a mainly coastal 500 Mile Road trip around Northern Scotland and through the Highlands 🏞🛣🏔 We completed the NC500 in the late Winter and thought we would share with you our Top 5 Locations. You may not agree, you may have different tastes, but at least this way you can see what we enjoyed and decide if you'd like to add it to your own List. As this is a NC500 Top 5, we didn't include Skye or any locations on Skye as it's not technically on the North Coast 500 Road Trip. BUT we would advise you to add Skye on if you have the time 🕰 For now though, OUR COUNTDOW! 5. The Castles Castles & Scotland go hand in hand, from the Norse Invaders to battling Clans, Thrones, Manors, Seats of Power, there are an incredible number. We chose our castles based on how easy they were to reach as we were on a tight time budget. Have a look for yourself as there are some extremely impressive ones out there. We decided to take on: Castle Varrich Eilean Donan Thurso Castle Dunrobin Castle 4. Smoo Cave Smoo Cave is the UK's largest Coastal Cave and the largest in Scotland, the networks past the entrance are open for exploration during season but it is not open for the winter. Check before you go, something good to do as a family and worth a lunch stop if you're pressed for time. 3. Clashnessie Falls A beautiful waterfall about 20mins from the Coast. Easy walk up to the top, it's a little boggy and marshy, good shoes recommended. Another great spot for breakfast or lunch before or after the walk up to Clashnessie Falls. 2. The Highlands Driving through the Scottish Highlands is its own activity. A never ending beautiful film playing outside your window, each corner you turn provides another incredible scene. This is more than likely what you have seen to convince you to do the NC500. The entire area is mesmerising and there is far too much to see and do. 1. Kylesku Bridge The NC500 is first and foremost, a road trip. And as far as roads go, this one is pretty impressive. Try to hit it anticlockwise, from the North heading South into the Highlands before Sunrise. There's a lookout point before the bridge where you can sit and have a cuppa as the sun rises to light up the ridiculous landscape. What a morning. The view from this Lookout Point is what's impressive, as nice as driving across the bridge is, by the time you are that low you can't see the surrounding area as easily. And so there you are.
