He started his musical journey from the age of 5 with learning tabla From Shri Ananth Hegde of sirsi Later on shifted his focus on vocal music and began training under his father Shri Jayaram Kulkarni who is a disciple of Kirana Gharana stalwart Pt Kaivalyakumar Gurav Ji. Sujayeendra is currently learning under Shri Koushik Aithal of the who is a renowned vocalist of Kirana-gwalior-patiala repertoire. Equally adept in singing light classical, semi classical music sujayeendra has garnered praise from audience across all sections including senior artists of Hindustani classical music and shows trait of having a bright future. ____________________________ Raag Yaman is one of the most popular and melodious ragas in Indian classical music. It belongs to the Kalyan thaat and is known for its serene and romantic mood. Yaman is often one of the first ragas taught to students of Hindustani music due to its straightforward structure and emotional depth. Characteristics of Raag Yaman Aaroh (Ascending Notes) N R G M^ D N S (Note: “M^” indicates Tivra Ma or the sharp Ma.) Avroh (Descending Notes): S N D P M^ G R S Vadi (Most Prominent Note): G (Gandhar) Samvadi (Second Most Prominent Note): N (Nishad) Jati (Type of Raga): Sampurna-Sampurna (It uses all seven notes in both ascending and descending scales.) Time of Performance: Yaman is traditionally performed during the evening, shortly after sunset. Mood (Rasa): The raga evokes emotions of devotion, romance, and tranquility. Special Rules: The use of Tivra Ma (sharp Ma) is essential to the identity of Yaman.
