Have you ever wondered what would it be like to walk the eerie, claustrophobic flight deck of the ill-fated star ship, Nostromo, from Ridley Scott's 1979 Sci-fi horror classic Alien? Now you can! To many, the Nostromo is one of the most immersive sci-fi ships ever put to film. With this build I've tried to capture the look, the feel and the sounds of the Nostromo that, to me, are as iconic as those of the Bates house and motel from Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO, the Freeling's home in Tobe Hooper and Steven Spielberg's POLTERGEIST, and the Overlook Hotel from Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece, THE SHINING. I firmly believe that these movies utilize locale as character and I wonder what these films would be like without these uncredited 'characters'. Check out the AutoDoc, Hypersleep chamber, Airlock, MU-TH-UR chamber, and the aptly termed Mess area where one of the most shocking and well known sci-fi horror scenes ever filmed, took place.
