On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, a coordinated effort led by the Los Angeles Department of Public Works resulted in the cleanup of a homeless encampment along Main Street in Venice. The operation was prompted by the closure of the "A Bridge Home" shelter on December 31, 2024, which had led to an increase in individuals camping on the sidewalk in front of the former shelter site. ​ The multi-agency task force included officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), who ensured compliance and provided security during the cleanup, as well as environmental specialists from Clean Harbors Environmental Inc.
