Flying the Knife Edges along The Bitterroot Mountains
The Bitterroots have been on my flying 'to do' list for years. What captures my imagination is the role they played in the Lewis & Clark Expedition. The Bitterroots nearly ended their journey west as it was a formidable barrier. Or, maybe it was my drive over Lolo Pass years ago with my family following the winding Hwy 12 through the rugged backcountry. I've made attempts in my trike to reach the Bitterroots from the west only to be turned away by weather. Now having finally the chance to get to see them up close and personal, you'll know why this was such an important component in my bucket list. The problem now is ... I want to go back!
