When Charlie Kirk died, the Maga Evangelicals turned him into a martyr claiming he was a brave Christian who stood for the gospel. The truth his, his Christian Nationalist agenda drove him to cruel and alarming rhetoric. It was like he took the most controversial and sensitive subjects in politics and convinced his own conscience of dehumanizing pseudo-logic that galvanized him to "debate" college kids. This man's platform and message was harmful and deeply concerning, continuously. He was not a follower of Jesus, he was a member of White Evangelicalism, an authoritarian sect of Christianity. I don't condone his death. I don't believe he should have been killed. I don't believe anyone should be killed for sharing their thoughts, no matter how horrible they may be. I am not excusing the actions of the person who murdered him. But these clips are inexcusable. Charlie knew what he was doing. He knew what kind of impact his words would have on the people he targeted and he said them, publicly, anyway. Not okay.
