After a seven-year hiatus — paused by COVID and life itself — the Oyster Rama is making its triumphant return to Hama Hama Oysters on Hood Canal. Jeff sits down with Lissa James Monberg to get the full rundown on what's new, what's the same, and why this event is unlike anything else you'll find in Western Washington. This year's Oyster Rama runs Saturday & Sunday, April 18–19, noon to 6pm, and it's been reimagined as a two-day music and food festival featuring four live bands each day, hands-on tide flat experiences, shellfish harvesting, ecological experts from the Pacific Shellfish Institute and Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, chefs coming in from Boston and California, and a whole lot of oysters. Tickets are $45/day (kids 15 & under free), and the event is a fundraiser for the Hood Education Foundation — with over $95,000 raised for local charities over its lifetime. Hamahama Oysters is located at 35846 N US-101, Lilliwaup, WA 98555 on the shores of Hood Canal. #Oysterama #HamahamaOysters #HoodCanal #Lilliwaup #MasonCounty #SheltonsKMAS #FocusOnShelton #OysterFestival #PacificNorthwest #WashingtonState #ShellFish #EarthDay2025 #HoodEducationFoundation #LiveMusic #PNWFood #WesternWashington #OlympicPeninsula #SheltonWA KMAS is the local radio station in Mason County Washington.
