THESE STEPS SAVED MY CAT AND A FRIENDS CAT ALREADY! Has your animal been diagnosed with Chylothorax? Don't give up! My cat was diagnosed 3 years ago and the vet didn't think he had a chance. 3 years later and Minion is still enjoying his life! This video details what we have done to fight Chylothorax in terms of diet, mediation, supplements and monitoring. Time stamps below but I honestly believe the first thing you should do is purchase and get your animal ingesting RUTIN with a low fat diet. Then get some medications from your vet - Furosemide and Enalapril. More in depth information in video. Although most Rutin products sold in stores are in pill form and have bad fillers that also taste bad and make it so the animal won't eat the food. I definitely recommend buying the Rutin linked above. Dry Food Recipe 1 level teaspoon of rutin per cup of dry food (Becuase minion generally eats about 2/3 cup a day, this comes out somewhere 1500mg a day) This can be increased or lowered as needed. Pour 5 cups of food into a big mixing bowl Pour 5 level teaspoons of rutin into a small mixing bowl, add some bonito flakes and water and mix until smooth Pour the Rutin mix into the dry food and mix until equally covered Wet Food Recipe This one can vary per your animals tastes. The goal is to get the cat/dog eating again and ingesting rutin and wet food is a great way to do that. Mix 1/2 or so teaspoon of rutin in a small mixing bowl with bonito flakes and water Mix that with enough wet food (1/4 to 1/2 can) that it is still appetizing but a bit yellow from the rutin Mix the two together and maybe microwave it to make it extra appetizing (5-10 seconds) General Notes Make sure the Rutin is fairly evenly spread out through the day. The idea is to have a constant amount in the animal at all times for best effect. Free feeding is obviously not great for this. We give Minion 1/4 cup in the morning, afternoon and evening. An animal can be difficult to get eating again after a tap, thats why I recommend wet food (with Rutin) with bonito. Try anything that you think will work! The goal is to get on a maintenance schedule where your animal gets the medicine and supplements they need daily. It can be a lot of work, but it is worth it!!
