Finally we are at Willen Lake Due to lockdown we could not travel out of our own area but now we can :) Willen Lake consists of a north and south Lake in an area of around 100 acres - 40 hectares Located in the North East of Milton Keynes These lakes was built in the early 1970's as a balancing system for the area giving control via weirs and sluices due to excess rainfall to handle flow and run off into the River Ouzel preventing flooding. This area was farmland previously. Todays walk will be around the south lake, which is mainly for Water Sports.
