Farewell to St Kilda by Paul Anderson on fiddle during 2023 Tarland Food and Music Festival

Tarland musician Paul Anderson MBE, performing his composition "Farewell to St Kilda". Paul was accompanied by Hamish Napier on keyboard and this was from their concert at the MacRobert Hall on Sunday 24th September during the 2023 Tarland Food & Music Festival. This was a great afternoon of music and song from Paul’s extensive repertoire, taking the audience on a musical journey through some of his favourite compositions. Paul was accompanied by talented musician Hamish Napier on keyboards and the concert also included the beautiful vocals of Shona Donaldson and images by local photographer Steve Rennie. Paul Anderson was inspired to compose "Farewell to St Kilda" after returning from a visit to St Kilda in 2006. It's an extreme but beautiful place, around 40 miles to the west of the Outer Hebrides.
