Runch Brog™:   / runchbrog   Hinomaruken "Middle-Class Eurasian Cuisine" Restaurant in Setagaya, Tokyo (ShinDaita station on Inokashira Line) Address: 元祖日の丸軒 〒156-0042 Tokyo, Setagaya, Hanegi, 1 Chome−4−18 A Valentine's Day dinner at this very eccentric but delicious "Eurasian" restaurant in Setagaya-ku, near Shindaita (1 min walk) or Shimo-Kitazawa (9 min walk) station. We opted for the 3200 yen (for 2 people) set menu which includes 2 tameya (Egyptian falafel), lamb kebab with mixed pickles & salad, spinach curry (palak paneer) with "naan" (a fresh baked bread with raisins, somewhat resembling naan). We also added an order of the white fish with salsa-verde (excellent!), and washed it all down with a couple glasses of red. All of the dishes were really delicious! The owner/chef/waiter who calls himself "Pepe Andre" is a funny, charming and very eccentric warlock/hermit-esque man, whose personality is reflected in the decor and ambiance of the restaurant.
