Meet Fatima, a small farmer from Ajloun who cultivates grapes and cucumbers, and produces grape molasses, za’atar, and other food products for sale. As part of the Grow Economy consortium, Acted is supporting smallholder farmers in Jordan with business development grants to promote income-generating activities, while providing training on climate-smart techniques and food processing. This initiative helps farmers diversify their income, particularly during off-season periods. Through these efforts, small farmers like Fatima are creating sustainable livelihoods, showcasing local products, and contributing to a stronger, more resilient agricultural sector in Jordan. The Grow Economy consortium, funded by AFD and led by Acted in partnership with Action Against Hunger (ACF), Terre des Hommes (Tdh), Phenix Centre for Sustainable Development, ECO Consult, the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), and the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), supports Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians working in the agriculture sector.
