Low Cleughs Bastle House, nr West Woodburn Northumberland

located near West Woodburn in Northumberland. The solitary ruins of an early 17th century ‘bastle’ or defensible farmhouse, typical of the ‘Border Reiver’ period when local families stole each other’s property and livestock. A very windy day and those sheep certainly made a muddy mess of my boots, not to mention my Jeans haha. The Bastle is (as you will see) located in a very isolated location and very open to the elements, i can vouch for that lol. Good job i don't wear a wig :) Stealing anything from that location must have been one heck of a challenge, especially stinky sheep hahaha.
