Travel Day – Georgia to Uzbekistan – What Could Go Wrong?

It’s travel day from Georgia to Uzbekistan! I left Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport and flew to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The day started with oversleeping in Georgia, a mad dash to the airport, and then the flight itself – 2½ hours across the region with a surprise meal onboard. Arriving in Tashkent was a whole different adventure. From taxi drivers hounding me at the airport to figuring out the local bus system, dealing with “crazy money” at the ATM, and walking 40 minutes with my backpack through new neighbourhoods, it was pure backpacker chaos. This is my very first time in Uzbekistan and the beginning of a brand-new series exploring the country.
